There's nothing Kim enjoys more than helping people achieve things they never thought possible and showing them how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Why? Because Kim's been there. Only a few short years ago, she was 40 pounds overweight, dealing with thyroid issues and dependent on medication. She was lost, depressed and didn't know where to turn for help.
As an undergrad at the University of Buffalo, she stumbled upon a fitness program that had her instantly hooked. Now, she's an accomplished trainer, a sponsored competitive athlete (Tango Charlie Apparel) and a Master's Candidate in Applied Clinical Nutrition at New York Chiropractic College.
"That’s why I’m here now, at Max Velocity," she says. "If you’re stuck in the same situation that I was in, it can happen for you ... just like it happened for me."
Kim thrives as a leader and motivator and has a way of effectively communicating with athletes of all levels -- from novices to competitors. After all, she's been both. In addition to coaching our small-group training sessions, Kim is available for 1-on-1 sessions and nutrition counseling.
You've been warned: She also likes to dance.

Teri knows what it's like to be out of your element and feel like you'll never fit in.
Already a walk-on for the College of Mount Saint Vincent women's soccer team, she decided to try her hand at lacrosse. It was a completely new sport for her, and the experience made her feel "all shaky and unclear of what I was doing," she says.
As her athletic career advanced, Teri had to confront the reality that the knee pain she was experiencing was nothing minor. Doctors informed her that her ACL was 70 percent torn, and that surgery wasn't going to help. This news would've caused many people in Teri's situation to give up. However, it only emboldened her to work harder and learn the proper exercise techniques that would strengthen her legs and keep her on the lifelong path of fitness and athletics.
At Max Velocity, Teri takes great pride in implementing our corrective exercise program to help our athletes avoid the kind of injury setbacks she's had to face. She also serves as lead assistant in Max Velocity's cutting-edge youth speed & agility program.
A CrossFit Level 1 trainer, Teri has a way of making everyone feel comfortable, confident and included, which will also serve her well in her teaching career. This summer, Teri embarks on a new path as a New York City Teaching Fellow. For now, Max Velocity is her classroom, and nobody writes a neater whiteboard.
